The Context: A Call by the Sea

Then Jesus said something that changed everything: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

What “Fishers of Men” Really Means
Jesus met these men where they were — on the water, doing the only job they’d ever had — and reframed their entire purpose. He didn’t say, “Stop fishing.” He said, “I’ll teach you to fish for something that matters more.”

- Using the right approach — different fish require different methods; so do people
- Trusting the process — you cast the net, but God brings the catch
- Working as a team — Peter and Andrew were called together, not alone
